You will need this licence if you are a corporation and operate a licensed premises that has a gaming area with class C gaming machines. For the purpose of this licence, a licensed premises is any premises (such as a hotel, tavern or club) that holds a General or On Liquor Licence and a corporation is a body corporate.
Class C gaming machines are machines that allow the user to play games other than:
- sic bo
- pai gow
- money wheel
- draw poker.
You will also need an Authorisation Certificate that states the amount of gaming machines you are permitted to have. This is part of the new licensing framework, as a licensee you are able to purchase Class B Authorisation Certificates and convert them into Class C Authorisation Certificates. You will also be issued an authorisation schedule with your Authorisation Certificate which is a summary of all authorisations and gaming machines at your venue.
