Community Housing Provider Registration - Australian Capital Territory

Description

You can apply for this registration if you intend to provide community housing and associated services to people on low incomes. Providers are not obliged to register, but registration may be a precondition of funding or assistance for jurisdictional policy and funding agencies.

There are three tiers of registration:

  • tier 1 - providers face the highest level of performance requirements and regulatory engagement
  • tier 2 - providers face an intermediate level of performance requirements and regulatory engagement
  • tier 3 - providers face a lower level of performance requirements and engagement.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be registered in a particular tier, a proposed provider must:

  • meet the incorporation requirements for the particular tier
  • demonstrate it meets the evidence requirements for the particular tier
  • demonstrate that it has no conflict of interest with another entity which may impact compliance with the National Law.
