Cooling Tower and Warm Water Storage Systems Registration - Australian Capital Territory

Description

You need to register your premises if you are the owner of a building that operates:

  • a specialised system
  • a warm water system or mechanical ventilation system that incorporates a cooling tower
  • an evaporative condenser
  • a process cooler
  • a closed circuit evaporative cooler
  • a warm water system in which water is stored or recycled at a temperature between 30 degrees Celsius and 55 degrees Celsius but does not include systems in domestic buildings or systems that utilise air cooling.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this registration, you must be able to prove that the system is operated in accordance with current legislation.

 

Ongoing eligibility requirements

You will need to submit quarterly water testing and maintenance records to the Agency. You must notify the Agency if a test discloses unsatisfactory levels of legionella organisms in the system.
