Dangerous Goods Driver's Licence - Australian Capital Territory


You will need this licence if you intend to transport dangerous good by road. This licence is needed if:

  • one or more of the receptacles carrying dangerous goods has a capacity of more than 500 litres or 500 kilograms
  • the capacity of all intermediate bulk containers (IBCs) is more than 3000 litres
  • any IBC is filled or emptied while on a vehicle.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • provide evidence of your current driver's licence
  • have passed the medical fitness assessment for driving a road vehicle which must also be assessed within 6 months before the application is made
  • not have committed an offence within the last 5 years that would affect the granting of a licence.
