Fire Permit - Australian Capital Territory

Description

You will need to apply for this permit if you intend to light, maintain or use a fire, use a firework or undertake a high risk activity. High risk activities include:

  • welding
  • grinding
  • soldering
  • gas cutting.

Permits may be required, depending on their purpose:

  • throughout the year
  • during the declared bushfire season (1 October to 31 March)
  • only on total fire ban days, depending on the purpose for which the permit is sought.

Eligibility requirements

You will need to notify the ACT Emergency Service Agency and your neighbors at least 24 hours prior to undertaking permitted burning activities and comply with any other conditions prescribed by the permit.
