You will require this licence if you are an individual, corporation or unincorporated body and you intend to manage collections for charity within the Australian Capital Territory. A collection is the soliciting or receiving of money or other benefits for a charitable purpose. An individual that organises a collection or manages a collection as a paid employee or agent may not need to be licensed if their employer (for example, a charity) is already licensed for the collection.
Please be advised that all licensees are required to provide the Agency with annual and / or finalised financial reports. These reports will need to be audited if your collections exceed $50,000 within a twelve month period. A licence is not required if the proceeds received from collections is less than $15,000 in a financial year.
