Licence to Deal with a Radiation Source - Australian Capital Territory

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to deal with a radiation source. A person is taken to have dealt with a radiation source if they:

  • use / operate a radiation source
  • manufacture a radiation source
  • possess a radiation source
  • service / maintain a radiation source
  • install a radiation source
  • test a radiation source
  • supply a radiation source to someone else
  • dispose of a radiation source
  • inspect and assess the safety of the radiation source to ensure compliance with the Act
  • store, transport or pack radioactive material.

You may not need this licence if you are an undergraduate or postgraduate student who is undertaking course work or research in radiation at a university, or other education institution.
