Licence to Take Water - Australian Capital Territory


You will need this licence if you want to take surface water from sources such as rivers, lakes, ponds, the stormwater system or other overland flow, or you want to take ground water from a bore. Some examples of water uses that will need a licence are taking water to irrigate crops, sportsgrounds or parklands. The licence will state how much water you may take and where the water may be taken from.
