Major Hazard Facility Licence and Notification - Australian Capital Territory

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to operate a major hazard facility. A major hazard facility is a facility at which schedule 15 chemicals are present or likely to be present in a:

  • quantity greater than their threshold quantity
  • quantity greater than 10 percent of their threshold quantity and the agency considers there to be potential for a major incident to occur, such as an escape, spillage, leakage, explosion, implosion or fire.

Schedule 15 chemicals include:

  • explosive materials
  • compressed and liquefied gases
  • flammable materials
  • oxidising materials
  • peroxides
  • toxic solids and liquids.
