Managing the Risk of Falls at Workplaces Code of Practice - Australian Capital Territory

Description

You may need to comply with this code if you intend to operate a business where there is a risk that a person may fall from one level to another, and that fall is reasonably likely to cause injury.

Where work involves a risk of a fall you must:

  • ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, that any work involving the risk of a fall is carried out on the ground or on a solid construction
  • provide safe means of access to and exit from the workplace
  • minimise the risk of falls so far as is reasonably practicable.
