You will be required to comply with this code if your work involves the use of, manufacture or exposure to dangerous or hazardous substances. The provision of adequate information is the key to enabling hazardous substances to be used safely at work. The label is the initial source of information for an employee using or handling a hazardous and / or dangerous substance and all labels must comply with this code.
It should be noted that there is an inconsistency clause listed in the Act where regulations that are in conflict with approved codes of practice are to be complied with. Any requirement of this code that is in conflict with what a regulation states may be ignored, and the regulation complied with.
