The purpose of this code is to ensure information relating to the identification of domestic animals is stored correctly. The code specifies procedures for:

  • notifying persons about incorrect information
  • establishing new records for cats and dogs
  • the time allowed before new records must be entered
  • providing the owner or keeper of a dog with a certificate specifying the information stored in a new record.
