You will need this licence if you intend to operate as an agent on behalf of clients for the sale of certain goods or services. These licences will allow you to trade as a real estate agent, stock and station agent, or a business agent.
Different types of agents deal with different goods and services:
- real estate agent: involves sales, property management and trust accounting
- stock and station agent: involves rural sales, rural property management and trust accounting
- business agent: involves business sales, associated dealings and trust accounting.
Agent licences are divided into two classes (class 1 and class 2). All licensees in charge of a real estate business must hold a class 1 agent licence.
