Real Estate, Stock and Station, or Business Salesperson Registration - Australian Capital Territory


You will require this registration if you are intending to act as one of the following in the Australian Capital Territory:

  • Real estate agent: dealing with sales, property management, trust accounting
  • Business Agent: dealing with sales and associated dealings, trust accounting
  • Stock and station agent: dealing with rural sales, rural property management, trust accounting.

If you hold registration in another State or Territory and intend to conduct work in the Australian Capital Territory your registration status may be recognised under the mutual recognition system.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this registration, you must:

  • be 18 years of age or older
  • hold the relevant qualifications including 5 units of competency or if you have not yet obtained these, you must be working under the direct supervision of a licensed real estate agent and enrolled in a course of study that leads to achieving the qualifications
  • comply with the continuing professional development guideline 2008 (for a real estate salesperson)
  • not have been disqualified from registration.

Lodgement process


You must lodge your application within 10 business days after the advertisement notice is published in the daily ACT newspaper. Please include a copy of the page on which your notice of intention is published with your application.

Please lodge your application and accompanying documentation directly with the administrating agency. The documents that need to be completed and submitted are as followed:

  • Personal particulars form;
  • Statutory declaration for a salesperson registration;
  • National Police Check from the Australian Federal Police;
  • Statutory declaration for mutual recognition (if you hold the same type of licence interstate);
  • Additional particulars (about qualification);
  • Statement of Attainment of qualifications or notice provided by the Registered Training Organisation confirming enrolment to the relevant course; and
  • Certified copies of 2 forms of identification, one being photo identification.
