Registration and Naming of a Horse (Harness Racing) - Australian Capital Territory

Description

You are required to register and name your horse intended for harness racing in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT).

 

Once your horse is registered, you will be issued with a registration certificate. You cannot enter your horse into a race unless it is registered.

 

Please be aware that:

 

  • any horse registered in a country other than Australia may be endorsed to race in Australia for twelve months
  • you must comply with the relevant rules and your registration may be subject to conditions.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this registration the horse must:

 

  • be the progeny of a registered standardbred sire and a registered standardbred mare
  • conform with the relevant stud book regulations and rules of racing
  • be branded or have another form of approved identification.

You must submit the required form with any documentation, information and fees required by the Agency.
