Rules of Harness Racing - Australian Capital Territory

You may be required to comply with these rules if you intend to participate in the harness racing industry in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). There are two sets of rules that you may need to comply with, the Local Rules of Harness Racing (NSW) and the Australian Harness Racing Rules. These rules include requirements for:

  • owners, trainers, drivers, apprentices, bookmakers and all associated staff
  • the conduct of racing
  • race field standards
  • the drawing of barriers
  • racing colours
  • the procedure for appealing an official decision.
