Safe Design of Structures Code of Practice - Australian Capital Territory


You may need to comply with this code if you intend to design structures that will be used, or may be used, at a workplace. This includes architects, building designers and engineers.

You will also need to comply with this code if you are involved in making decisions that influence the design outcome, such as developers and builders.

For the purpose of complying with this code a structure includes:

  • buildings, masts and towers
  • framework and pipelines
  • roads, bridges and rail infrastructure
  • underground works
  • any component of a structure
  • part of a structure.
