You will need this registration if you keep livestock. Any earmark, brand or tattoo that is used for the identification of livestock must be registered, including new designs and those where the ownership is transferred.
Livestock such as pigs, sheep, cattle and horses are generally identified before they reach specified ages. In most situations you will need to register a brand or mark, however the use of an earmark is permitted for:
- certain small stock, such as sheep and goats
- stock kept for the commercial value of its fleece or hide.
