Veterinary Premises Registration - Australian Capital Territory


You will need this registration if you intend to operate a premises for the provision of veterinary services within the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). The services performed at the veterinary premises will determine the requirements and the type of registration granted. The types of premises available for registration are as follows:

  • mobile veterinary clinics
  • mobile veterinary hospitals
  • veterinary clinics
  • veterinary consulting room
  • veterinary hospitals.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for registration, your premises must:

  • comply with the prescribed Veterinary Premises Standards
  • pass an initial inspection
  • have an appointed superintendent.

If you are a veterinary practitioner performing home visits you do not have to complete a full application for premises registration. Please submit page 3 of the premises registration application form and a letter from a registered premises agreeing that they will take any referred cases.
