You may be required to comply with this code if you intend to carry out work involving the demolition of a structure. Demolition works involves the demolishing or dismantle of a structure or part of a structure that is load-bearing or otherwise related to the physical integrity of the structure. A structure is anything that is constructed, whether fixed or moveable, temporary or permanent, and includes buildings, sheds, towers, chimney stacks, silos or storage tanks.
The Code includes specific obligations to manage the risks associated with demolition work and to meet your occupational health and safety obligations. This Code applies to all types of demolition work and should be read in conjunction with other Codes of Practice relating to hazards and control measures relevant to the construction industry.
Please consult the Contact Officer for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance (if any) that may be required.
