Accreditation as a Qualified Person - Australian Government

Description

You will require this accreditation if you intend to certify applications for plant breeder's rights. A Qualified Person (QP) is responsible for overseeing growing trials and other aspects of a plant breeder's right (PBR) application.

There are two categories of QP:

  • consultant: accredited to act as consultants to all PBR applicants.
  • non-consultant: accredited to certify applications for which they are the breeder, owner or authorised agent or an employee of the breeder, owner or authorised agent.

To be eligible for this accreditation you must provide:

  • relevant qualifications and experience
  • the species or group of species for accreditation
  • the region where you will provide services
  • three referees' contact details
  • whether you're applying to be a consultant or non-consultant QP.
