Accreditation of Hearing Service Provider - Australian Government

Description

You will require this accreditation if you intend to operate as a Hearing Service Program Provider. Providers are entities (individuals, partnerships, companies or government agencies) which have been accredited and contracted with the Office of Hearing Services to provide hearing rehabilitation services to eligible clients of the Commonwealth Hearing Services Program.

Providers are contractually responsible for establishing and maintaining approved clinics and employing qualified practitioners such as audiometrists and audiologists to provide clinical services to clients. They must also ensure that these services are provided in accordance with clinical standards and other contractual requirements set by the Office.

Eligibility requirements

To be accredited as a Hearing Service Provider, you must:

  • employ, or be, an approved qualified practitioner
  • have experience in providing hearing services
  • provide details of the proposed staffing profile and qualifications of the staff
  • have the capacity to meet the rules of conduct
  • maintain suitable premises and meet permanent/visiting site requirements
  • submit the appropriate forms and associated documentation
  • have the capacity to deliver hearing services to specified conditions, as per the Service Provider Contract.

The conditions of accreditation also require you to provide sufficient details of your financial viability.
