Description

You will require this permit if you intend to export goods, services or technology listed in the Defence and Strategic Goods List (DSGL). This permit can cover the export of one or more items and can be for a single shipment or for multiple shipments occurring in a specified period. Controlled goods include but are not limited to items such as:

  • ammunition
  • firearms
  • propellants and constituent chemicals for propellants
  • military ground vehicles
  • production equipment for rockets and missiles.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this permit you must:

  • complete an online application through the Defence Export Controls Forms website
  • submit all relevant supporting documentation, such as End User Statements or Certificates, Technical documentation, purchase orders, Import approval from a foreign country and Firearms or dealers licences. Please note that document requirements vary depending on which permit is required
  • provide a valid Defence Export Control System Client Registration Number (DCRN)
  • provide the names and addresses of the consignees and end users.

Defence Export Controls will then assess your permit application to determine if the export would prejudice the security, defence or international relations of Australia.
