Description

You will need to be appointed as a designated aviation medical examiner if you are a qualified medical practitioner and you intend to provide medical examination services to individuals who are applying for aviation licences.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this appointment you must:

  • be a suitably qualified medical practitioner
  • be a registered medical practitioner
  • be qualified in aviation medicine
  • provide a certified copy of your Australasian Society of Aerospace Medicine membership certificate (not required if practising outside Australia).

If you have an overseas qualification and want to work in Australia as a designated aviation medical examiner, you will also need to complete regulatory training.
