You may be required to comply with this code if you intend apply for a refrigerant air-conditioning (RAC) industry permit.
A RAC industry permit means any of the following:
- refrigerant handling licence
- refrigerant trading authorisation
- RAC equipment manufacturing authorisation
- halon special permit
- restricted refrigerant trading authorisation.
To be eligible for a permit you must demonstrate your knowledge of any standard relevant to work to be carried out under your permit. You must carry out any work under a permit in accordance with the relevant standard.
This standard has been superseded by AS 2030.1-2009 and AS 2030.5-2009. These standards specify requirements for the usage of cylinders for compressed gases other than acetylene exceeding 0.1 kg, but not exceeding 3000 kg water capacity.
