Australian Standard AS 2377 Acoustics - Methods for the Measurement of Railbound Vehicle Noise - Australian Government

You may be required to comply with this standard if you intend to operate an airport lessee company, or if you are the occupier of an airport site. You may also require this standard if you intend to undertake construction or demolition work at an airport.

An airport lessee company must monitor the levels of pollution present in air, water or soil at the airport and the level of noise generated at the airport. An occupier of part of an airport site must provide all reasonable assistance to the airport lessee.

This standard provides methods for type tests and monitoring tests of rail bound vehicles in motion and when stationary, and includes technical provisions which may be specified in contracts for various categories of rail bound vehicles. This standard also provides methods for determining noise emission from rail bound vehicles which may be requested by regulatory authorities in the assessment of railway noise.
