Authorisation as a Biosecurity Officer or Biosecurity Enforcement Officer - Australian Government


You will require this authorisation if you intend to operate as a biosecurity officer or biosecurity enforcement officer.

Biosecurity controls at points of entry into Australia minimise the risk of exotic pests and diseases entering the country. Biosecurity officers and enforcement officers appointed by the Agency are responsible for a range of roles in preventing the introduction of exotic pests and diseases.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible to receive this authorisation, you must:

  • be an officer or employee of the Australian Government, State or Territory body or a member of the Australian Defence Force
  • satisfy the training and qualification requirements for biosecurity officers.
