This authority is required by patent attorneys intending to communicate with the patent office about associated technology.
Associated technology means any document that contains information about the design, production, operation, testing or use of equipment or plant for:
- enriching nuclear material
- reprocessing irradiated nuclear material
- producing heavy water
- nuclear weapons or other nuclear explosive devices
- to which a prescribed international agreement applies.
It includes any photograph, model or other thing that may contain such information.
