Average Quantity System - Australian Government

Description

You may be required to comply with the average quantity system if you intend to operate a business that sells goods by measurement or that manufacture, pack, import or sell pre-packaged goods that have a constant nominal content.

Manufacturers, packers and importers can choose:

  • to continue with their current system of shortfall calculation based on the uniform trade measurement legislation
  • adopt the average quantity system.

Please consult the Contact Officer for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance (if any) that may be required.
