Aviation Identification - Australian Government

Description

You will need an aviation identification (AVID) if you are a pilot requiring access to a secure area of a security controlled airport. This identification shows that you have a current security check and have undergone a background check.

Please note that to work in a secure area at a security controlled airport, you must obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC). If you have already obtained an ASIC then you do not need to undergo background testing.

  • be at least 18 years of age
  • hold a valid Australian flight crew licence
  • have a current aviation medical.
