Certificate of Rating - Australian Government

Description

You will require this certificate if you intend to work on board regulated Australian vessel, domestic commercial vessel or a recreational vessel that has Australian nationality.

There are different Rating Certificates available:

  • certificate of Rating as Able Seafarer - Deck
  • certificate of Rating as Able Seafarer - Engine
  • certificate of Rating as Engine Room Watch Rating
  • certificate of Navigational Watch Rating
  • certificate of Integrated Rating
  • certificate of Chief Integrated Rating.

Each grade of certificate indicates different permitted duties or functions.

To be eligible for certificate of ratings for any of the certificate grade you must:

  • be at least 18 years old
  • completed required program of study.
