Certificates of Rating - Australian Government

Description

You will require this certificate if you intend to work on board a regulated Australian vessel, domestic commercial vessel or a recreational vessel that has Australian nationality.

There are different Rating Certificates available:

  • Certificate of Rating as Able Seafarer - Deck
  • Certificate of Rating as Able Seafarer - Engine
  • Certificate of Rating as Engine Room Watch Rating
  • Certificate of Navigational Watch Rating
  • Certificate of Integrated Rating
  • Certificate of Chief Integrated Rating.

Each grade of certificate indicates different permitted duties or functions.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for certificate of ratings for any of the certificate grade you must:

  • be at least 18 years old
  • have completed required program of study.
