This code applies to the use of radiation in veterinary medicine, teaching and research.

The code provides a system for the safe use of veterinary radiation equipment and radioactive sources to minimise the risk associated with radiation exposure of staff and other persons. The Safety Guide within the code informs best practice in each application of ionizing radiation.
