Description

You may need to comply with this code if you are a chiropractor and you intend to use ionizing radiation in chiropractic procedures.

The code applies to:

  • the ionizing radiation exposure of clients as part of their diagnosis
  • the occupational exposure of individuals
  • the exposure of members of the public.

The code sets out requirements to be met by chiropractors to achieve a satisfactory level of radiation protection, including justification, optimisation and dose limits. It also outlines requirements for the establishment of a Radiation Management Plan.
