You will be required to comply with this code if you are licensed to operate a commercial radio broadcasting service.
This code sets out the minimum standards for programs broadcast on all commercial radio broadcasting stations and aims to ensure that commercial broadcasting services are regulated in a manner that promotes community safeguards across a range of areas such as material not suitable for broadcast, news and current affairs, Australian music, live hosted entertainment and the promotion of gambling during live sports.
A code of practice is a set of rules which details how people in a certain industry should behave. A code of practice can be defined as a result of legislation or by industry regulators and bodies.
