Customs Depot Licence - Australian Government

Description

You will need a depot licence if you are going to hold and/or unpack imported or exported goods on a premises subject to customs control. You will also need this licence if you are going to pack goods for export subject to customs control into containers. To receive a depot licence you must:

  • be deemed a fit and proper person
  • have all employees deemed fit and proper persons
  • provide a comprehensive staff list of all people at the deport premises when requested
  • maintain control and security of the premises and its operations.

You must satisfy the requirements of current legislation including the:

  • personal character of the applicants and employees
  • location, security and accessibility of the proposed site of the depot
  • reporting, record-keeping and management of the operation.

Duration

Licences are valid from the date of issue until 30 June each year.
