Customs Warehouse Licence - Australian Government

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to store imported excise equivalent goods (EEGs) in a warehouse, or you are an operator of one or more warehouses that undertakes this activity. EEGs are imported goods that would be subject to excise goods if produced in Australia. They include:

  • alcohol
  • tobacco
  • fuel and petroleum products.

Eligibility requirements

To apply for this licence, you must:

  • be a fit and proper person
  • be at least 18 years old
  • be registered as an Integrated Cargo System client
  • have adequate security in place.

If you operate a warehouse that will store tobacco, you will need to pay duties and taxes for all tobacco products that you intend to store.
