Dairy Industry Code of Conduct - Australian Government

Description

You must abide by this code if you are a farmer or processor in the dairy industry. This code sets enforceable minimum standards of conduct for business practices between dairy farmers and processors of milk. Processors of milk include retailer where they are the first purchaser of milk.

The code prescribes:

  • an obligation on both farmers and processors to act in good faith
  • a set of minimum disclosure requirements and protections that must be included in every milk supply agreement
  • a right to certain dispute resolution processes, including mediation.
