Dairy Industry Code of Conduct - Australian Government


You must abide by this code if you are a farmer or processor in the dairy industry. This code sets enforceable minimum standards of conduct for business practices between dairy farmers and processors of milk. Processors of milk include retailer where they are the first purchaser of milk.

The code prescribes:

  • that processors and farmers must deal in good faith
  • processors must publish standard forms of milk supply agreements
  • processors must only purchase milk under milk supply agreements that are in writing and comply with the code.
