Declaration as an Eligible Offsets Project - Australian Government

Description

You will need to apply for the declaration of an eligible offsets project if you intend to participate in the Australian Carbon Credit Unit (ACCU) Scheme.

The scheme encourages people and businesses to run projects that reduce emissions or store carbon, for example by:

  • using new technology or upgrading equipment
  • changing business practices to improve productivity or energy use
  • changing the way vegetation is managed.

Australian carbon credit units (ACCUs) are a tradable financial product. They incentivise carbon abatement activities through projects ranging from reforestation to energy efficiency.
