Extinguishing Agent Trading Authorisation - Australian Government

Description

You will need this authorisation if you intend to buy, sell, store or dispose of an extinguishing agent. These agents include ozone depleting and synthetic greenhouse depleting gases that are used in fire protection. This authorisation is a business level permit that can be used by technicians to acquire the extinguishing agent required for a particular task.

A trading authorisation is required to undertake the following activities:

  • fill or recover extinguishing agent.

A trading authorisation is not required by a purchaser of fire protection extinguishers or system cylinders already charged with an extinguishing agent listed in the legislation. Please note that this authorisation does not permit a person to acquire, store or dispose of halon.
