Flight Simulator or Training Device Qualification - Australian Government

Description

You will require one of these qualifications if you are the operator of a flight simulator or synthetic training device for aircrafts. This qualification allows a synthetic training device or flight simulator to be used to accrue aeronautical experience or instrument time for the issue of a type endorsement or instrument rating.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this qualification you must provide:

  • Flight simulator user details;
  • The quality system you propose to use;
  • Flight simulator approvals sought;
  • A copy of the training and checking organisation approval, if relevant;
  • A copy of the training syllabus which specifies the flight simulator-based training sequences, if relevant;
  • A list of all configuration differences existing between the flight simulator and the applicant's aircraft;
  • Proposals for differences training (if relevant);
  • Details of the Flight Simulator Operator;
  • Flight simulator identification details;
  • Flight simulator qualification levels; and
  • A copy of the Flight Simulator Qualification Certificate.
