General Operator Certificate - Australian Government


You will require this certificate if you operate radio installations, radio navigational aids and communication equipment in a vessel.

It is also a requirement of many seafarers certificates that you must hold a current General Operator Certificate.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible to receive this certificate, you must:

  • be at least 18 years old
  • have completed an approved course that meets the standard of competence in the Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers Code.
