Description

You will require this approval if you intend to deal with Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs). With certain limited exceptions, a licence is required before the dealing can be undertaken.

For dealings not requiring a licence, the Gene Technology Regulator must still be notified.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

Applications must be made in the form specified by the administering Agency and contain all the information necessary to enable the Agency to undertake a risk assessment and prepare the risk management plan for the proposed dealing. If your application does not contain the necessary information, the application may be rejected.

If your application contains confidential commercial information you will need to seek a privacy declaration from the Agency at the same time as you submit your licence application.

You must meet any ongoing specified information and reporting requirements.
