If you intend to undertake bulk vessel surveys for the export of prescribed plants or plant products, you must be a marine surveyor accredited under the Accredited Grain Surveyor Accreditation (AGSA) scheme. This is to ensure that marine surveyors undertaking empty bulk vessel surveys are sufficiently qualified and experienced to provide greater assurance that bulk vessel surveys comply with agricultural export legislation.
A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.
To apply, accredited marine surveyors are required to hold Professional Indemnity Insurance to a minimum amount of $1,000,000.
