You will require this licence if you intend to provide international broadcasting services for either television or radio.
International broadcasting services are broadcasting services that are targeted to a significant extent, to audiences outside Australia where the services are delivered through the use of a radiocommunications transmitter in Australia. A broadcasting service must hold this licence for every international broadcasting service they operate before a transmitter apparatus licence will be issued.
You will not require this licence if:
- the service only delivers programs packaged outside Australia
- all relevant programming decisions are made outside Australia
- the service is transmitted from a place outside Australia to an earth station in Australia for the sole purpose of being immediately re-transmitted to a satellite.
