You may be required to comply with this standard if you intend to provide accreditation services to Laboratories, which will be involved in the evaluation of businesses that receive the Australian Government's Product Stewardship Benefits.
For entities to be eligible for the Product Stewardship Benefits the recycled oil they produce must pass testing by an independent laboratory. In order to undertake this role laboratories must be accredited by an entity that:
- Holds a mutual recognition agreement with the Australian National Association of Testing Authorities; and
- Complies with this standard.
