Licence to Import Narcotic and Psychotropic Drugs - Australian Government


You will need this licence if you intend on importing narcotic, psychotropic and precursor substances.

A licence in itself does not authorise the importation of substances. You will also need a permit to import narcotic, psychotropic and precursor substances. A new permit is required for each shipment entering Australia and for each substance and/or preparation type.

An import licence is valid for up to 12-24 months depending on the substance that is to be imported.
