You will be required to comply with this manual if you intend to design, operate or use a Synthetic Training Device (STDs). STDs are flight simulators used to train pilots.

This manual details the operational standards of STDs and is used in determining whether an STD provides a flying simulation that can be used in the flight crew member training and checking process.

This manual aligns with Australia's standards regarding STDs with the recognised standards administered by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).
