You will need to comply with these requirements if you are a business or other entity with an annual consolidated revenue of $100 million or more. The requirements involve preparation of an annual report outlining your actions to assess and address modern slavery risks in your operations and supply chains.

Modern slavery describes situations where offenders use coercion, threats or deception to exploit victims and undermine their freedom. Examples of modern slavery include:

  • human trafficking
  • slavery
  • servitude
  • forced labour
  • debt bondage
  • forced marriage
  • child labour.

The modern slavery report must be submitted to the Australian Border Force online register and will then be made public.
