The standards help to promote and drive a nationally consistent approach to improving the quality of services. They focus on rights and outcomes for people with disability. They outline six national standards:

  1. rights
  2. participation and inclusion
  3. individual outcomes
  4. feedback and complaints
  5. service access
  6. service management.
