Petroleum Infrastructure Licences - Australian Government

Description

You will require this licence if you intend to construct and operate an infrastructure facility in an offshore licence area. An infrastructure facility may relate to petroleum or a greenhouse gas substance.

Note that this licence applies to all locations where a production licence is granted and the construction and operation of infrastructure is required.

Eligibility requirements

Your application must contain detailed information including, but not limited to, information about:

  • your proposed facilities
  • technical capacity
  • financial capacity
  • data and reports from surveys in regard to the proposed infrastructure
  • your development schedule
  • technical and commercial arrangements with any closely associated production licence
  • your proposed infrastructure development plan.

Duration

An indefinite term, however the licence may be terminated if no operations are undertaken within five years
